Vietnam Idol

This article uses Vietnam Idol as an example to further discuss about the culture adaptation and culture influence. In this article, the author points out that Vietnam’s culture has been influenced by America’s mass media such as TV shows. I can relate to that because China also has Chinese Idol. I think Asian countries, especially developing and new developing countries such as China, are influenced by the American culture and economy, etc. I think that these developing countries are trying to absorb new idea and technology from developed country such as the United Stated. In Vietnam and China, the economy and technology are not well developed yet. Therefore, it still relays on getting more new sources from outside of the country. Also, I think American culture not only influenced Vietnam and China’s mass media, but also influenced in other aspect such as eating. In China, fast food restaurant such as McDonald and KFC are very popular. However, the McDonald in China and in the United States are different with menus; in China, McDonald is selling rice and noodle. Therefore, I think even though the culture can be adopted and influenced, but can’t not be the same.
