This article reminds me of how people used to and still live in
fear because of their sexuality. There are many platforms in which people can
get connected and groups to support each other but there is still that fear of
being treated differently. Now a day, society is more willing to accept of
those that are LGBTQIA but there is still a stigma around it. I know people who
have been bullied because of their sexuality and whom are kept a secret to
family members. This reminds me of how Mexicans don't really speak of those who
are not heterosexual cisgender and this is a lot tougher on males than females.
Males are told that they should be this macho figure from a very young age and
there is never really acceptance if they deviate from the norm. They usually
think it is just a phase and as soon as males start doing something that strays
from manhood, they get punished and "corrected'. I wish it didn't have to
be this way, I wish we could all really come together and use the internet to
our benefit and strive forward.
