Week #3 From Race Rebels & From Weapons of the Weak
From the two experiences
talked about through different backgrounds, it’s relatable but I also
think times have changed making more businesses and restaurant food chains more
equal and less controlling than before. More restaurant food chains operate
similarly and I think employees are treated much more fairly now, and not as unjust as
before. I’ve worked at a Baskin Robbins and the franchise owner treated
everyone different depending on your position and your experience. If you
messed up on the job that was also considered. He wasn’t a great boss, so that’s
also a huge factor. When I interned at Subway, my boss there was much nicer and
more efficient. She was much more fair. She taught me a lot and treated
everyone the same. Race had to do more with it back then at the time described
in the article as to why the two McDonald’s were completely different. I think
it’s still relevant today if you were to go to an Asian restaurant owned by a
family compared to a chained Asian restaurant there would be the differences
discussed in the article.
