James Scott- 4/20
Both assigned readings
are very interesting in the fact that they dive into the small scale resistance
rather than the big scale resistance that are frequently mentioned in t books.
It was very eye opening to read about these instances of small scale resistance
that actually result in changes. What I realize is that these small scale
resistances are what seem to be very logical to do. It is very hard to show
open opposition without receiving any over the top aggression or straight
punishment for doing so. This is why I feel like employees mental health is so
important when running a business. It is easier to ensure that your employees are
happy and therefore working efficiently then it is to force and monitor them on
every action that they do. I also feel like in the long run it is financially
sound to do so. I've heard from a article that feet dragging is a common
practice in Japan, where working hour is grueling and thus people tend to be
much less efficient in defiance with monstrous working hours.
